His story:

Randy grew up in Ocala, Florida as part of a large family and found his home in sports, particularly cross country. With a strong sense of serving his country, Randy enrolled in the Army as a teen and completed combat tours in Iraq. After many heart wrenching experiences, Randy returned to the states a different person, battered like many returning veterans and needing a place to heal. Searching to recover the thrill of sports, Randy joined CrossFit 1088 to help the healing process of returning to civilian life while re-engaging in a childhood passion. In many ways, Randy says CrossFit saved his life. As a way to give back, he began coaching and sharing his passion for CrossFit and competition with others at the gym. He is the competition scout at the gym, always looking ahead to see what event is coming up. If he’s not napping, he’s listening to Kevin Gates and working on his squat.
