When it comes to nutrition, your daily habits will most effect how you look and feel. Analyzing what types of protein you eat regularly, and how much fat each one has, is a good way to evaluate the quality of food you are consuming.

To that point, Healthy Steps Nutrition has released a Food Guide that splits protein sources into three categories: Lean, Moderate, and Fatty. These categories are based on how many grams of fat is in each ounce of protein food.

If you are trying to lose weight or tone up, we recommend you eat the majority of your daily protein foods from the Lean category. Each of these foods contains 0-2 grams of fat per ounce.
