Why I Take BCAAs Everyday
If you are not familiar with the initials BCAAs, they stand for Branch Chain Amino Acids. And amino acids are what make up the protein that your body uses to repair muscles and connective tissue when you exercise (particularly when you strength train).
Our bodies use 20 different amino acids to repair our tissue, but there are 9 amino acids that our bodies can’t make, called essential amino acids. Of these nine, three of the them are branch amino acids: leucine, isoleucine and valine. And it is these three that provide many benefits to our bodies when we ingest them in the proper amounts and frequency. Here are a few reasons I supplement with BCAAs:
Hydration: They contain electrolytes & minerals that keep me hydrated all day.
Strength: BCAAs help me recover faster from workouts so I can be back the next day getting stronger and faster.
In fact, the online health article resource, Healthline writes: “In one study, people who consumed a drink with 5.6 grams of BCAAs after their resistance workout had a 22% greater increase in muscle protein synthesis compared to those who consumed a placebo drink.” (1)
Endurance: BCAAs reduce lactic acid build up, improve endurance performance and increase blood flower with nitric oxide production.
This is a benefit you feel during a workout. I notice I can go longer and not feel as tired when I’ve consumed some BCAAs.
Recovery: Maximizes protein synthesis and recovery by getting amino acids directly to the
muscles. Which basically means, their chemical structure allows repair to happen sooner and more effectively.
Plus… I LOVE the taste! I end up using 1/2 scoop per shaker bottle so I can have 2 shaker bottles a day I love it so much.
