YOU Decide: The Hand You Were Dealt

There are a lot things you can’t change. And, you didn’t get a choice about.

You couldn’t choose which country you were born and raised in.

You couldn’t choose whether you lived with harmonious, loving parents or an angry alcoholic.

You couldn’t choose how much money your family had, or what city you grew up in.

What opportunities were offered. 

Whether you had an encouraging teacher or mentor, or whether you remember the biting sting of criticism by an adult.

Your gender. Your skin color. Your personality.

Those were all made without your input.

Those were the cards you were dealt.

BUT, you can change which ones you HOLD ON TO, and which ones you lay back on the table. 

You can CHOOSE what you remember, what memories you allow your mind to review. 

You can CHOOSE your attitude, and DECIDE what events and people effect you.

You can CHOOSE what your next thought is, what your next action is, what your next words will be. 

And, you can decide how you will spend tomorrow. 

We are all given 24 hours each day. Decide how you’re going to use them! YOU have that POWER.
